The dream sequence was actually inspired by a dream I had about this story. (Erik, why does daylight hurt so much? If I had my way, I would stay with you like that forever.) Come join me as I nearly succumb to the darkness of my own heart and Phoenix Rose becomes my saving grace, in his true form no less. (I don't know this yet, but Flotsam does. You'll find out later.)
P.S. You'll have to forgive the roughness of the writing. I've never written a scene like this for myself before, so I felt nervous about going "all the way."
